SOMERSET FOOD TRAIL 2025
FIRST WEEKEND
The 10-day Food Trail runs across two weekends and the week in between. Find out what's happening and which venues are open in the first weekend – Friday 18 to Sunday 20 July.

Fri 18, Sun 20
42 Acres
Frome
42 Acres is a regenerative estate, nature reserve & wellbeing retreat centre. We’re exploring ways to take care of, and live in conversation with, our sacred world. Our vision is to live in harmony with nature, self and others. We work with nature not against it. We grow, forage and wild-tend foods to create nutrient-dense food. As we restore health in our earth, we restore the worlds within ourselves.

Fri 18, Sat 19, Sun 20
Da Costa
Bruton
Da Costa is named for and inspired by Artfarm co-founder Iwan Wirth’s grandfather, who was from a small mountainous village in Northern Italy's Veneto region. He emigrated to Switzerland and opened a restaurant much loved for its simple, honest fare. A century later, Da Costa continues this glorious culinary adventure.

Sat 19
Bath Farmers' Market
Bath
Popular market held every Saturday, offering fresh, seasonal produce sold directly by the people who produce them. Founded in 1997, Bath Farmers' Market was the first in the UK. Most items come from within 40 miles of Bath and include organic and non-organic vegetables, freshly baked bread, award winning local cheeses and more.

Sat 19
Burrow Hill Cider & The Somerset Distillery
Burrow Hill, Martock
Burrow Hill Cider and Somerset Cider Brandy live at Burrow Hill. Cider has been made on the farm for over 300 years and Somerset Cider Brandy (the only spirit in England to have a PGI) for 35 years. We grow all our own apples (as well as cherries, pears and quinces). The farm makes cider, brandy and various liqueurs solely from the fruit we grow.

Fri 18, Sat 19
Cheese, Cider & Wine Bike Tours
Bruton
Join one of our electric cycle safaris – guided cycle tours around some of the finest local cheese, charcuterie, beer, cider and wine makers. A full day excursion including tastings and lunch. You can also hire e-bike and pedal bikes for your own self guided tours.

Sun 20
Blue Lias Catering
Glastonbury
I am an omnivorous retreat chef and baker with a strong focus on sustainability. I strive to use higher welfare, responsibly sourced, local meat, fish, organic flours. I am a sourdough geek and run workshops on this incredible, ancient and healthy form of bread making. Join me on a course to make a 100 % sourdough rye loaf.

Fri 18
Chapel Cross Tearoom
near Yeovil
Chapel Cross Tearoom is a community-focused outdoor café, serving teas, coffee and cake from our converted horsebox tea room, with seating outside and in greenhouses. My herd of Royal Golden Guernsey Goats play in the paddock next door. Their milk is made into our award-winning soft and semi-hard raw milk goats cheese.

Sat 19
Combe Head House
Combe St Nicholas, near Chard
Combe Head House is a beautiful holiday retreat and working smallholding with rare breed pigs, pygmy goats, chickens, and sheep. Guests can explore the woods and meet friendly animals, and enjoy a seasonal cream tea made with local produce. A true taste of countryside life, lovingly curated by hosts Lara and Benedict.

Sat 19
Fenny Castle Vineyard
Wells
Family run vineyard and winery producing exceptional, award-winning English sparkling and still wines, situated on the edge of the Somerset Levels, close to Wells. We planted the first parcel of Bacchus vines in 2011 and the main vineyard of Ortega and Pinot Noir the following year. We now have a range of multi-award winning wines.
