Sparkford

A visit to Horrell & Horrell is like going to a friend's for dinner, where you bring a bottle, enjoy great food, and let the conversation flow – whilst we take care of everything else. Guests can take in the gardens, and enjoy an aperitif on the lawn or by the fire before dining that celebrates a seasonal, and mostly homegrown harvest at a long sharing table in our old cow barn.

Shop local and ethical food, from herbs & spices, to pulses, rice & grains, fruit & seeds, sweets & chocolate. You can also pick up cleaning products, personal care and household goods. Bring your own containers to refill with as little or as much as you need - saving you money and preventing waste.

Based on an organic farm at the foot of Glastonbury Tor, we help disadvantaged children, families and communities to connect with nature and learn about food and farming. We host residentials for young people from deprived urban areas, plus volunteer mornings for all ages and abilities, and a programme of community courses and seasonal events.

Queen of Cups is a 17th century coaching inn, turned modern Middle Eastern restaurant with skilfully and uniquely curated sharing plates created by the talented Executive Chef and founder Ayesha Kalaji. The food celebrates the flavours of the Middle East while showcasing the best of local produce.

Ilminster Town Market takes place every Thursday in and around the Market House. There are a variety of stalls and traders selling preserves, olives, nuts and other Mediterranean delights. A baker, barber and a meat stall. Pizza and pasta are also on offer if you’re looking for lunch or dinner.

Langport

We are a family-owned and family-run artisan bakery that supplies local residents and businesses with our lovingly hand-crafted, baked produce. We use the highest quality, locally sourced, and ethically produced ingredients and the care and attention that we fold, stir, and mix into every bake is evident in each bite. Our bread is flour, water and salt – nothing else is added.

Pitney, Somerton

Situated on an organic farm, Pitney Farm Café makes everything from scratch, offering brunch, lunch, evening events, cakes and more! It uses the organic meat and eggs from the farm, as well as veg picked from the fields right in front of the café windows. Everything is prepared here on the farm.

A community-run shop and café in Roadwater, Exmoor, we are passionate about supporting local businesses. We stock a wide range of Exmoor-sourced produce, alongside essential household goods and basic foods at modest prices. In support of our ethos of environmental sustainability, we are a water bottle refill site and we stock refillables, including milk in refillable glass bottles and household cleaning products.

Long Sutton, Langport

British Supreme Champion cidermakers with craft, sparkling and fruit ciders made by Harry and his son Toby from fruit grown in our family orchards. We're holding one of our Cider Saturdays – cider, music and food – on Sat 19, and also offering a couple of Cider Tours. Visit our fantastic new taproom, take an orchard walk, learn the process of making cider and sample our award winning ciders. Our cider shop and taproom are open daily apart from Sundays.

Kingsbury Episcopi, Martock

Community owned and run, our shop and cafe provide a vital local service in this glorious part of Somerset, supporting local growers and producers year-round. Come in for a snack or light lunch or pick up fresh bread, veg, cheese, cold drinks, ice creams, local cider and all your household needs.

Greengrocers stocking a range of fresh produce, including locally sourced and seasonal wherever possible. We also stock a range of cheeses, eggs, meat, jams, chutneys, apple juices, honey, plants, flowers, mostly from local producers, and lots of pantry items.

Pitney, Somerton

Pitney Farm Shop is located on Glebe Farm, an organic mixed livestock and arable farm that has been in the hands of the Walrond family for over 200 years with three generations involved on the farm today. We sell our home-reared range of organic meat, eggs and vegetables as well as an extensive range of food and drink products from other local producers.

Wells

We are a modern, veg-led, sharing plates restaurant in the heart of Wells, serving local and seasonal produce. The first Root opened in Bristol in 2017; owners Josh Eggleton (The Pony) and Luke Hasell (The Story Farms / Valleyfest) wanted to create a forward-thinking restaurant that championed local suppliers and producers, and led with a ‘more veg, less meat’ ethos. Root, Wells was opened by Head Chef Rob Howell and his wife and Manager Meg Oakley who wanted to bring a neighbourhood restaurant to their home of Wells.
