About us

Winemakers Guy Smith and Laura Evans produce award-winning sparkling and natural wines, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, from the heart of Somerset. We planted the vineyard at Higher Plot in 2008 after a four-year search for the perfect site to produce the highest possible quality sparkling wine. The free draining Calcerous Limestone soil is identical to some of the world’s greatest vineyard sites and the local climate is one of the best in the UK for growing grapes. Come and taste our award-winning wines!

The Food Trail has now finished.

Read on to find out about the kinds of activities offered but be aware that the dates quoted below only relate to July 2025.

Are you putting on a 30-Mile Feast or a tasting?

A tasting, A tour

Join us on Saturday 19 for tours and tastings from this award winning Somerset vineyard near Langport. The ridge on which Higher Plot Farm sits has long been recognised as a special place that achieves early ripening and high quality fruit. There is terracing built into the hill that is at least 300 years old which was built for orchards when cider was seen as being of the same quality as the finest wines. And it's a glorious place to spent some time taking in the views and tasting wines.
